Catching Up...

          Its been awhile since I posted about something and its about death and  longing. So for now I will just make some random updates about my life.... First of all, its 1st day of September, Merry Christmas everyone!!! And a month from now I will have my most awaited semestral beak, where shall I go this time? Hmmm... Last year I went to Sagada all by myself and it was full of fun, thrill, new learning, adventure and at the same time relaxing and  full of reflection. It was really great! :) 

#1.

      For the past months I've been addicted to cooking and making desserts and I do everything from scratch!!! I already cooked chicken square, chicken curry, steamed ginger chicken, chicken teriyaki, pan-fry fish,  steamed fish, beer-battered fish, lechon kawali, pork adobo, beef tapa, beef steak, beef salpicao, bulgogi and the latest that i just cooked this past weekend are the pesto dishes: pesto pasta and cheesy chicken pesto. Sorry I don't have pictures aside from the two, bulgogi and pesto dishes c/o Gerine sy.. Soon I will post the recipes...

#2.

     Last Saturday, my friends and I attended a school activity for Disaster Management which was presented by the MSC. What was emphasized  in the lecture is Preparedness and Awareness of what to do when disaster comes because the Philippines is a disaster prone country. Even though the Filipinos are very aware of it, we seem to always get caught off guard. It made me wonder why can't the Department of Education/ CHED or LGUs with help of  AFP implement a course for disaster management so that the people will be more knowledgeable of what to do. For DOE/ CHED: implement and make it a requirement for the students to take up a Disaster Management course to make the additional 2 years of high school have more sense or make it part of the NSTP (college). Then for the LGU's to have drills. I think it will make a difference. Well its just my idea, but whatcha think? Its because the way I see it, the present approach of public education regarding DM is not enough and there's a need to step up the game.

RIP Bigbang T.T

           Bigbang was our family's first dog, she was very playful, stubborn and matakaw but we love her. We got her from ate Nita, her sister Cloud9 was suppose to be the one that should be given to us but for some reason we got her instead,  I was grade 1. A year or so after, she started to follow me and Val to school ( our school is near our house). At first, she would just wait for us outside our classroom and she would accompany us back home but then she stop accompanying us back home and would rather stay at school. We learned that she befriend the other pupils, she also get free bbq and snacks. Hahahaha. It was really very difficult for her to return to us so the school adopted her. She became the school's official dog! Hahaha very luck! She has then witness the ups and downs of the pupils, the laughter and tears, the feeling of family.

             Yesterday, July 5, 2014, kuya Arvin posted in FB that Bigbang peacefully passed away. She was 15 yrs. old. I was heartbroken, there is a mix emotion of sadness and panghihinayang to not be able to personally say my goodbye her. It was also very unfortunate that she will not be at the planned grand reunion this coming December. :( 

             I am thankful and grateful to the school administrators and pupils who took good care and love her. Bigbang you will always be Grace Christian School's pet dog and always be remembered by the pupils.

A short trip to Monasterio de Sta. Clara- Katipunan

I have been a devotee to St. Claire since 2012 and have been to the monastery in Cabuyao, Laguna twice (c/o Gerine Sy). The St. Claire Monastery is very calming and very nature friendly. It is a very nice place to reflect and if you just want a very quiet place :)

 But Laguna is a bit far away for me to just go there anytime I want which makes me sad but last September some friends told me that there is a St. Claire Monastery in Katipunan which for me is nearer so YEY!!! :))

Direction on how to go there via public transpo from Fairview (especially from FEU-NRMF vicinity)

St. Claire Monstery of Manila is located very near the junction between Katipunan and Aurora Blvd.

1. Take a Jeep that has a route na lagpas Ever, dapat dumaan ng Tandang Sora.

2. Tell Manong "Tandang Sora overpass po", fare is P11.

     Landmark (INC church, McDo, Berkeley Square)

3. Go to the other side of the Commonwealth highway through the overpass

     Landmark (Mercury Drug Store, KFC)

4. Walk a bit to your right until you see this signage on the jeep. Take this ride, fare is P8

4. Sa dulo ng route nito, magbabaan lahat, you have to walk a bit pa for the next ride

5. Then you will see a jeep with a route and signage like the one below, take this ride, fare is P8

6. Baba ka sa "Terminal" nila, which is the junction between Katipunan and Auroroa Blvd.

7. Then walk towards the overpass, go to the other side, then walk a bit pa (diretso diretso lang)

    You see then vendor selling eggs in dozens or half wrap in different colors.   What I'm sure of is Yellow is for Thanksgiving :) for half a dozen its P35

8. Then when you see the gate, then your on the right path because this is the the monastery ;)

I hope you understand my direction even though medyo magulo. For via LRT2, take a ride  to to LRT2 going to Santolan and alight at Katipunan . From there,  you can just  walk to your right (Landmark: St. Bridget School sa tapat) and pass right under the bridge and you can see vendors which leads to the church entrance.

          Its been awhile since I posted something for my blog so a friend of mine asked to post something, anything that pop into my mind .Well, I now have something in mind but it will post it I guess next week because this week is our Midterms o.O. Then why I am here??? Hahahaha... I really don't know.
